Call it quits!!

Don’t worry…its not about the job!! This time there’s something on relationships. I dunno how relevant it is for you guys… but just liked these few abstracts read somewhere… and picked up (with slight inputs of mine) which I preferred…and the ones which make sense…

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time for peace, I swear its not too late

Each relationship is unique, and so are its reasons for not functioning. Many a time, the reasons for not being able to give up a dysfunctional bond run deeper than what seems obvious. Fear of loneliness, fear of not too confident on finding another person, fear of taking the big step, fear of being ostracized by family, friends and society….these are the prime reasons for being comfortable with living in discomfort.

It all starts with small, simple arguments. You shrug it off thinking this happens in all relationships, and yours isn’t any special. Then is the phase of fights. You tell yourself just that – it’ a phase, it’ll pass. You give it a shot, until comes a time when you’re ‘only giving shots’. But you don’t have the guts to look reality in its face and admit the relationship isn’t working. All relationships are built on faith and there is no room for arguments and name-calling. If a person cannot understand you now, that person would not understand you ever. Small, simple arguments are graver than big, serious arguments. Life is made up of moments, and so is relationship.

Think about it – how much time do you truly spend with your partner? In a day, two hours or so! You spend more time at your workplace, with friends, commuting, et al. Yet this relationship means the most. So, if you’re putting in that kind of effort, why invest in a wrong relationship?” Everyone wants a perfect relationship, but they don’t want to work at making it one. We can’t blame on the other person for making it work, the primary onus is on you. And if the person is involved in name-calling, or any other blame game, its time to re-think!!

Anyways, the most important thing is that the people involved in the relationship be happy. If not, then come out of the crap soon before it’s TOO LATE!! Just call it quits…

Final words of the advisor, “Live for yourself, no one else! Make yourself happy because if you are sad, you’ll make others unhappy too. Your friends would grow up and live their own lives, the society will wag its tongue for a few moons and forget you exist, your parents will be worried only for a while…. but eventually, you have to lead your life your way. Give the relationship your best, but if it isn’t working, be wise not to take those words of commitment so seriously.”

Oops…I know it’s a heavy dose… in contrast with what I have been writing earlier… this one is just to have some variety in the blog ;)
And believe me its nothing to do with promoting the movie ‘kabhi alvida na kehna’..i simply hated the concept!! But above stuff makes sense, and wisely worded by someone to help avoid peer pressure. Live for yourself! Live to the fullest!! Its one life…so realize your dreams… just Go and Get it…. :)

Let me share the greatest irony of life:
To feel liberated n to live for oneself…to feel all this…
u need at least one experience with someone, u need to live at least one relationship…which may not be a lasting one but which has been deeply felt…
so to feel free, u need someone...

Primary reason for a so-called 'dysfunctional bond' these days is that people don’t want or don’t try to work at making a relationship… don’t realise that there is no such thing as perfect…they expect to have everything in life… whereas the only thing that is desired, that matters is faith n nothing beyond that…
